Pashupati Kumar Paras, who’s the Minister of Food Processing Industries within the NDA cabinet may finish his alliance with the NDA and resign from the Union cabinet on Tuesday. The Rashtriya Lok Janshakti Party (RLJP) chief expressed disappointment with the BJP reportedly not giving “due preference” to his get together on the difficulty of seat-sharing in Bihar for the Lok Sabha polls and mentioned the BJP management ought to rethink its determination.

He is the uncle of Chirag Paswan and brother of the late Ram Vilas Paswan and has been a member of Lok Sabha from Hajipur since 2019.

Paras mentioned that his get together has fulfilled its “friendship” with the BJP to date. “We will wait for the official announcement of candidates by the BJP and then take a decision,” he mentioned. Paras’ remarks come two days after Paswan introduced that his get together has finalised a seat-sharing method with the BJP for the Lok Sabha polls and all his “concerns” have been addressed.

Chirag Paswan’s LJP will get 5 seats

The NDA on Monday finalised its seat-sharing method in Bihar for Lok Sabha elections, saying the BJP will contest 17 constituencies, the JD(U) 16 and Chirag Paswan’s LJP (Ram Vilas) 5. Bihar LJP (Ram Vilas) chief Raju Tiwari mentioned Chirag Paswan will contest the Hajipur Lok Sabha seat, which has been given to the get together below the seat-sharing pact for the 2024 polls.
