Police officer accused of demanding sexual favours from rape survivor dismissed from service

Taking extra harsh motion towards Kailash Bohra, who was given obligatory retirement from the Rajasthan Police Service (RPS) for demanding sexual favours from a rape survivor final month, the state authorities has ordered his dismissal.

The order was issued on Friday after acquiring approval from the governor. The state authorities had issued an order for Bohra’s obligatory retirement on March 20.

Bohra was arrested by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) for allegedly demanding sexual favours from a rape survivor in lieu of taking motion in circumstances lodged on the idea of her complaints.

He was posted because the assistant commissioner of police (ACP) on the particular investigation unit for crimes towards girls within the DCP East workplace and was arrested by the ACB crew from his workplace on March 14.

Bohra had first demanded cash from the girl, who had acquired three circumstances, together with one of rape, lodged. Subsequently, he started demanding sexual favours from her for taking motion within the circumstances. The officer was investigating the circumstances.

The opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) raised the problem within the Assembly and expressed dissatisfaction over mere suspension. However, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Shanti Dhariwal assured the House that Bohra will likely be terminated from service.

On March 20, Principal Secretary, Home Abhay Kumar issued the order of Bohra’s (52) obligatory retirement in public curiosity, in accordance with the advice of the high-level standing committee of the executive reforms division.

However, the federal government took the ultimate resolution to punish Bohra with dismissal from service below Article 311(2) of the Constitution after the governor’s approval, sources mentioned.
