Jammu and Kashmir: Tension arose in Jammu and Kashmir’s Samba district as a suspected package has been recovered close to the railway line in Rakh Barotiya on Monday, The state of affairs prompted the police to cordon off the realm. It is suspected that the package has been airdropped by a drone from throughout the worldwide border.

Police recovered a cache of arms and explosive supplies from a package suspected to have been airdropped by a drone from throughout the International Border in Jammu and Kashmir’s Samba district, officers stated. The package — discovered early on Monday close to the railway line in Rakh Barotiya — contained, amongst others, three China-made pistols and grenades, they stated.

Additional Superintendent of Police (Samba) Surinder Choudhary advised reporters, “We obtained details about a suspected package (mendacity) in the fields of Rakh Barotiya in the Vijaypur belt. We instantly rushed police, bomb disposal squad and FSL (Forensic Science Laboratory) groups to the spot.

Three China-made pistols recovered 

“It was first ascertained if the package contained an IED (Improvised Explosive Device).” Among the weapons recovered from the package have been three China-made pistols, six magazines, 48 rounds and 4 hand grenades, the official stated.

According to previous modus operandi, the police suspect that the package was dropped by a drone from throughout the border. Choudhary stated, “…It looks like the weapons consignment has been dropped by drone (from across the International Border). “…it had a field and an extended string of plastic measuring 50 metres… It seems to be like (air) dropping.” The senior police official added that the precise element can be ascertained solely after an investigation.
