New Delhi: Chief Election Commissioner Sunil Arora introduced on Monday (April 5) that those that are affected by the COVID-19 virus should not be disenfranchised in the course of the Assam Assembly polls.
Arora had addressed day one of many EC’s two-day worldwide digital election guests programme for election officers from different international locations. The programme consists of digital visits to 5 polling stations throughout polling on Tuesday for 110 delegates from 26 international locations.

Meanwhile, Assam is all set to witness direct and triangular contests in 40 meeting constituencies which might be going to polls within the final of the three phases on Tuesday (April 6) to resolve the destiny of 337 candidates, together with senior minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, his 5 cupboard colleagues and BJP state unit president Ranjeet Kumar Dass.
The destiny of 20 sitting MLAs – eight from the Congress, 5 from the BJP, three every from the All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) and the BPF and one from the AGP — will be determined within the ultimate section.
