Jammu: Jammu and Kashmir Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbagh Singh on Friday (April 28) stated final week’s terror assault in Poonch, by which 5 troopers have been killed, was carried out with the assist of some locals. The troopers have been from a Rashtriya Rifles unit deployed for counter-terror operations.
‘Explosives and weapons came from Pakistan’
According to DGP Singh, the explosives and weapons came from Pakistan through drones. The April 20 assault was well-planned. He stated that the terror assault was executed by three to 5 terrorists. They first did a recce of the world, understood the terrain after which selected the spot of assault, he stated.

‘Nisar was fully involved along with other family members’

Then they fired on the vehicle which got damaged. The troops got injured. They planted an IED, set it on fire and exploded it,” he stated.
‘Floating population of terrorists coming from Pakistan’
Singh stated there’s a floating inhabitants of terrorists coming from Pakistan. “They remain here for several months. They do recce and such acts. We have neutralised several of them also in the past. Two to four such terrorists remain active during a period of time,” he stated.
According to Singh there are 10 to 12 such parts working within the space. On the usage of Chinese metal core ammunition, he stated that it was used within the Dhangri incident too. “The terrorists come better prepared for such attacks,” he stated.
