People travelling on a non-public bus in Uttar Pradesh’s Mathura district had been robbed of money and cellphones on Tuesday (April 6) by miscreants, who boarded the car as passengers, on the Yamuna Expressway, police stated.
Mathura Superintendent of Police (SP) Dr Gaurav Grover stated the theft happened in the early hours of the day in the Surir police station space of the district when the bus was on its method to Hamirpur in UP from Delhi.
“The bus driver had stopped the bus at an unscheduled location out of greed to get more passengers. Some unidentified people boarded the bus pretending to be passengers. After some time, they assaulted the conductor and looted the passengers of the bus,” Grover stated.
He added that round Rs 1.66 lakh money and cellphones had been looted.
A gathering of high-ranking officers of Mathura was convened instantly after the incident got here to gentle, Grover added, including an First Information Report (FIR) has been lodged and an investigation launched.
Forensic consultants have visited the spot and picked up proof, canine squads have been roped in and efforts are underway to trace the culprits, the SP additional acknowledged.
