New Delhi: After opening a can of worms in a podcast, Indian actress Priyanka Chopra Jonas bought right into a sticky state of affairs as she referred to the Telugu movie ‘RRR’ starring NTR Jr and Ram Charan as a Tamil movie.
Priyanka was in a dialog with Dax Shepard on his podcast titled Armchair Expert. Priyanka made the error whereas correcting Shepard, who tagged ‘RRR’ as a Bollywood movie.
This occurred when Shepard was evaluating Bollywood to be just like the 50s of Hollywood when a number of stars and massive studios managed all the pieces. Which, Priyanka agreed with.
She mentioned, “I do not assume you might be removed from it. I believe that was what it was large studios, 5 actors large motion pictures might be made by them; however the sport is modified a lot now. First of all, it is streaming.
“It has given access to so many people who are making content.” She added that “Bollywood has evolved”, to which the host talked about S.S. Rajamouli’s ‘RRR’, whose tune ‘Naatu Naatu’ gained large on the ninety fifth Oscar Awards.
Priyanka corrected him and mentioned: “That’s a Tamil movie by the way. It’s like big, mega, blockbuster Tamil which does all of those it’s like our Avengers.”
Social media customers took to Twitter to share their opinion on the gaffe.
“If it is to be believed then @priyankachopra lacks clarity on Indian cinema. #RRR is an Original #Telugu movie, NOT a #Tamil movie,” mentioned one social media person. Another person mentioned, “IDK what’s the context. She could have done some research before mentioning it but could have said just Indian film. This south vs south, north vs south is getting too much these days .. Feels like stan Twitter fan wars.” Another mentioned, “Isn’t it annoying when every movie is called Bollywood and ppl can’t differentiate between Tamil and Telugu?” One livid person wrote: “An idiot for saying #RRR is a Tamil movie. It is a Telugu movie.”
@priyankachopra RRR isn’t a Tamil film it’s a Telugu film. When you North Indians will perceive south India has 5 states. It’s fking Telugu film rattling it.
