The Government e-Market (GeM) portal was launched on August 9, 2016, for on-line purchases of products and providers by all central authorities ministries and departments.
“As of March 28, the procurement has crossed Rs 4 lakh crore. It is historic,” GeM CEO P Ok Singh informed reporters right here. In 2021-22 the procurement worth stood at Rs 1.06 lakh crore and it crossed Rs 2 lakh crore final monetary yr. He stated that procurement of providers from the portal has jumped from Rs 66,000 crore in 2022-23 to Rs 2.05 lakh crore to this point this fiscal.
Similarly, items value Rs 1.95 lakh crore have been purchased from the platform until March 28 this fiscal. GeM has over 63,000 authorities purchaser organisations and over 62 lakh sellers and repair suppliers providing a variety of services and products.
Currently, authorities departments, ministries, public sector items, state governments, and central armed police forces are allowed to hold out transactions by means of this portal.
