‘Protect heritage to get the maximum benefit out of tourism potential’

Secretary of the Kalyana Karnataka Region Development Board (KKRDB) P. Anirudh Sravan has stated that defending and projecting heritage is the key to tapping tourism potential to the maximum in the area.

Addressing college students at a perform to inaugurate a short-duration Tourist Guide Training programme at Sharnbasva University right here on Friday, Mr. Sravan stated that Kalyana Karnataka area has all the potential to be a serious vacationer attraction in the State.

However, sadly, the potential of the area to appeal to vacationers has not been totally tapped up to now. The area has a wealthy historic and cultural legacy and is a serious heritage centre.

Dotted with monuments and historic evidences throughout, Kalyana Karnataka area was dominated by the Rashtrakutas, the Chalukyas, the Bahmani dynasty and the Nizam, Mr. Sravan stated that the heritage websites, together with forts and palaces, and different evidences of the previous should not correctly maintained or preserved when put next to different areas.

Importance must be accorded on precedence foundation for preserving and defending heritage websites to make the area a serious vacationer attraction, he stated.
