Paris Saint-Germain suspended Lionel Messi for two weeks after the World Cup champion took an unauthorized trip to Saudi Arabia, French media reported on May 2.
The suspension means Messi would miss PSG’s subsequent two video games and comes at a fragile time because the French membership hopes to increase the Argentine star’s contract past this season.
L’Equipe and RMC Sport each reported the suspension with out citing sources.
The membership didn’t instantly reply to a request by The Associated Press for remark.
Messi’s trip adopted PSG’s shock 3-1 loss to Lorient on Sunday, leaving the defending champions with a five-point lead over Marseille with 5 video games left within the season. Messi performed the total recreation.
