Shivamogga Deputy Commissioner Dr. R. Selvamani has stated the general public can carry money up to ₹50,000 and people carrying greater than that quantity can have to furnish related paperwork.
In a press convention in Shivamogga on Wednesday, the DC stated the administration had set up check-posts throughout the district. Every automobile passing by way of the check-post can be stopped and searched. “Those carrying cash worth more than ₹50,000 will have to show documents. Otherwise, officers will seize the amount,” he stated.
The Superintendent of Police G.Ok. Mithun Kumar stated there was a special process for the seizure of money ₹10 lakh and above. A committee of officers can be constituted to deal with the money seizures. The public may increase their complaints, if any, earlier than the committee, the SP added.
The officers made it clear that there was no restriction on holding personal programmes. However, such programmes shouldn’t turn out to be platforms for campaigns.
