Pune Lockdown: Night Curfew From 11 PM To 6 AM, Schools & Colleges Shut Till Feb 28 Amid COVID-19 Spread

In order to control the sudden surge in the cases of Covid-19, the Pune administration has announced to enforce certain restrictions in the district including night curfew for the people indulged in non-essential services. The positivity in the number of Corona infected cases has increased to 10 per cent in last 10 days and hence, the administration has decided to intensify Corona prevention measures.

As per the announcement, the Pune administration has enforced restriction on the movement of the people in the district. The crowd will not be allowed to come out of homes between 11 pm and 6 am however, people will be allowed to travel for the essential services.

News agency ANI reported that the Pune Divisional Commissioner further announced to shut down the educational institutions. In a press conference held on Sunday, the official announced that “Schools & colleges in the district will remain closed till 28 February.”

In view of rising Covid-19 cases, the students are expected to be able to continue with their online classes. The new guidelines will be effective from tomorrow.

Meanwhile, the Maharashtra government is mulling over imposing a 12-hour night curfew and a strict penalty of Rs 1 lakh on wedding halls that are spotted violating Covid-19 norms by allowing over 50 attendees.

The strict preventive measures have come after states including Maharashtra, Kerala, Punjab, recorded an upsurge in daily new cases in the last seven days making it a cause of concern for all.
