Bribery case: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA from Punjab’s Bathinda Rural seat Amit Rattan Kotfatta has been arrested in a bribery case by the Vigilance Bureau, a prime official mentioned in the present day (February 23). The legislator’s arrest comes days after his alleged shut aide Rashim Garg was nabbed by the Punjab Vigilance Bureau in the identical case.
Kotfatta has been arrested, a prime official of the bureau instructed media. The MLA was nabbed from Rajpura on Wednesday (February 22) and has now been arrested, mentioned the officer. He shall be produced in a court docket on Thursday to hunt his remand, the official added.
Rashim Garg was arrested on February 16 (Thursday) following a criticism lodged by the husband of a Ghuda village head in Bathinda who alleged that the accused was demanding a bribe of Rs 5 lakh in lieu of releasing a authorities grant of Rs 25 lakh.
Garg was caught with Rs 4 lakh money by a staff of the Vigilance Bureau in Bathinda. Kotfatta had earlier denied having any affiliation with Garg. He had accused the opposition events of making an attempt to defame the Aam Aadmi Party authorities in Punjab.
