Punjab: An explosion was heard near the Golden Temple on Saturday night time which injured several individuals and broken the glass facades of some buildings, police stated on Sunday.
The reason behind the explosion is but to be ascertained. According to police, the incident was reported from an consuming joint inside a one-km radius of the holy Sikh shrine.
Forensic groups reached the spot and have been conducting investigation, the police stated. They stated one individual was injured in the incident. Glass facades of some buildings have been additionally broken in the explosion, they added.
Karandeep Singh, a devotee who was current on the spot, stated just a few ladies travelling in an auto-rickshaw have been hit by shards of glass and sustained minor accidents after the explosion. The ladies had come from Haryana’s Panchkula to pay obeisance on the Golden Temple, he stated.
Meanwhile, the Amritsar police stated, “A news related to blasts in Amritsar is going viral on social media, the situation is under control. The investigation is on to establish the facts of the incident and there is no need to panic. Urge citizens to maintain peace and harmony, advise all to fact-check before sharing.”
