Punjab: In a stunning incident, a site visitors police constable was dragged on high of a car’s bonnet for a couple of kilometre in Punjab’s Ludhiana district on Thursday, April 13. According to police, the incident came about at the Mata Rani Chowk after on-duty Traffic Head Constable Hardeep Singh signalled the automobile to cease.
Instead of stopping, the metallic silver-coloured automobile hit the policeman, because of which he landed on its bonnet. Police mentioned the driving force then drove in direction of the Jalandhar bypass for a couple of kilometre with Singh on the bonnet. They mentioned each occupants of the automobile have been recognized and the duo even have prison histories.
A video purportedly of the incident is doing rounds on social media whereby the constable is seen perched dangerously on the car’s bonnet.
Accused but to be nabbed
According to the police, the constable slipped off the bonnet after the automobile slowed down as a result of heavy site visitors. However, the occupants of the automobile managed to flee together with the car.
Meanwhile, Ludhiana’s Assistant Commissioner of Police Ramandeep Singh mentioned the occupants of the automobile have been recognized and can be arrested quickly. He mentioned {that a} case beneath sections 307 (try to homicide), 353 (assault or prison pressure to discourage public servant from discharge of his responsibility), 332 (voluntarily inflicting harm to discourage public servant from his responsibility) and 279 (rash driving) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) has been registered.
