Punjab: Six, including a child, killed in car-truck collision in Sangrur district

Punjab accident: In a tragic incident, not less than six folks had been killed after a automobile they had been travelling in collided with a truck in Punjab’s Sangrur district in the wee hours of Thursday. The incident occurred close to Mehlan Chowk and the deceased additionally included a 4-year-old little one. 

According to Punjab Police, the occupants of the automobile had been returning after paying obeisance on the Dargah of Baba Haider Sheikh in Malerkotla. 

What led to the accident? 

Giving details about the incident, police stated that the accident happened after the automobile they had been travelling in tried to overhaul a truck close to Mehlan Chowk in Sunam Taluk of Sangrur district and collided with one other truck arriving from the wrong way.

Bodies despatched for postmortem 

Shortly after the mishap happened, police reached the scene and eliminated the our bodies of the deceased from the automobile. They acknowledged that our bodies had been despatched to the Sangrur civil hospital for post-mortem. Further investigation into the matter is underway, they added.
