New Delhi: A visitors policeman in Punjab’s Ludhiana was dragged on prime of a automobile’s bonnet for a couple of kilometre after the motive force ignored the cop’s sign to cease. Police on Friday stated the incident passed off on the Mata Rani chowk, close to the municipal company workplace intersection within the metropolis, on Thursday afternoon after on-responsibility Traffic Head Constable Hardeep Singh signalled the automobile to cease.

Instead of stopping, the metallic silver-colored automobile hit the policeman, on account of which he landed on its bonnet. Police stated the motive force then drove in the direction of the Jalandhar bypass for a couple of kilometre with Singh on the bonnet. They stated the cop fell off the bonnet after the automobile slowed down on account of heavy visitors. However, the occupants of the automobile managed to flee together with the car.
Ludhiana’s Assistant Commissioner of Police Ramandeep Singh stated the occupants of the automobile have been recognized and could be arrested quickly. Both of them have prison data, he added. It is speculated that one thing unlawful was being transported within the automobile, he stated, including that raids are on to nab the duo.
A case underneath sections 307 (try and homicide), 353 (assault or prison pressure to discourage public servant from discharge of his responsibility), 332 (voluntarily inflicting damage to discourage public servant from his responsibility) and 279 (rash driving) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) has been registered, the ACP stated.
