Patiala: A 32-year-old girl was shot dead in Dukhniwaran Sahib Gurdwara advanced in Patiala district of Punjab for allegedly consuming liquor, police stated right now (May 15). A person was als injured in the capturing. The accused who fired the photographs has been arrested.
According to Patiala Senior Superintendent of Police, Varun Sharma, the deceased girl, Parminder Kaur (32), was allegedly consuming liquor close to the “sarovar” (holy water tank) of Dukhniwarn Sahib gurdwara on Sunday night.
‘Kaur was shot a number of occasions’
She was noticed by a sangat and so they determined to take her to the supervisor’s workplace, when a person opened hearth. A resident of Urban Estate Phase I, the 32-year-old girl was shot a number of occasions by one Nirmaljit Singh, an everyday customer of the gurdwara.
“Parminder Kaur was having liquor near the sarovar of Gurdwara Dukhniwarn Sahib. When the sangat noticed this, they decided to take her to the manager’s office. However, one person, Nirmaljeet Singh Saini, present there shot her in a fit of anger,” Sharma stated. “Saini fired five rounds at the woman with his 32-bore licenced revolver,” an official assertion stated.
‘Man injured is in secure situation’
Kaur was taken to a hospital however was declared introduced dead by the docs, police stated. Sources stated, a person injured in the incident was hospitalised. He is said to be in a secure situation.
Police have arrested the accused who’s a property seller and has no felony background, officers stated. “Prima facie it seems the accused’s religious sentiments were hurt and he shot at the woman, killing her on the spot,” a police official advised the media. Further particulars have been awaited.
