New Delhi: In what might give the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) contemporary ammunition to tackle the opposition within the run as much as the meeting polls, Congress chief Rahul Gandhi on Saturday criticized the ballot physique on micro-running a blog platform Twitter as he wrote Election ‘Commission’.

The Wayanad MP’s outburst towards the ballot physique comes amid the continuing row over a video purportedly exhibiting an Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) being transported within the non-public car of a sitting BJP MLA in Assam and a discount of marketing campaign ban length on Assam Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.

With the video of the officers transporting an EVM in a car belonging to Assam MLA and BJP’s Patharkandi candidate Krishnendu Paul going viral on social media, the opposition events raised issues over the administration of EVMs in ballot-certain states.

Congress chief Priyanka Gandhi Vadra shared the clip on Twitter and mentioned the Election Commission “needs to start acting decisively on these complaints and a serious re-evaluation of the use of EVM’s needs to be carried out by all national parties”.

Meanwhile, the Election Commission earlier within the day diminished the 48-hour ban on Himanta Biswa Sarma from campaigning or talking in public together with on social media to 24 hours

The ballot physique issued the 48-hour ban order on Friday night on a grievance by the Congress that Sarma had overtly threatened to ship Bodoland People’s Front (BPF) chief Hagrama Mohilary to jail by misusing the National Investigating Agency (NIA).
