Cold wave: As many as 20 trains, arriving in Delhi, had been operating late on Monday (January 8) morning as fog engulfed a number of elements of India, officers stated. A Rajdhani Express, incoming from Bhubaneswar was delayed by 1.30 hours. Some trains had been delayed by as late as 6 hours whereas some others had been falling wanting the scheduled time by 6.30 hours. Railway services have been severely affected by the persistent cold wave in North India with fog surrounding the cities for many a part of the day.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasts continued shallow to reasonable fog within the upcoming week, with the potential of a cloudy sky and light-weight rainfall on Tuesday.
The IMD has predicted continued cold to extreme cold situations over Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, and Rajasthan throughout Monday, with a subsequent lower.
