Indian Railways freight loading witnessed a leap in 2020-21 regardless of pandemic

Despite the Corona virus pandemic, Indian Railways recorded greater than 10 per cent enhance in its freight loading in 2020-21, as in comparison with the corresponding fiscal of 2019-20, which was a standard 12 months.

Indian Railways whole loading was 203.88 million tonnes in 2020-21 which was 10 per cent greater than 184.8 million tonnes of 2019-20.

On mission mode, Indian Railways’ freight loading for the month of May 2021 is 92.29 million tonnes, which is 10 per cent greater than of May 2019 (83.84 million tonnes) and 43 per cent greater than May 2020 (64.61 million tonnes).

In the month of May 2021, Indian Railways earned Rs 9,278.95 crores from freight loading.
