The well-known ski-resort of Gulmarg and different greater reaches in the Kashmir Valley acquired fresh snowfall whereas the plains have been lashed by rains, officers stated on Friday.
Gulmarg, in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district, acquired about 4 inches of snowfall, they stated.
The officers stated there are reviews of snowfall in different areas in the higher reaches of the valley, together with at Zojilla Pass on the Srinagar-Leh nationwide freeway, forcing its closure for site visitors.
Srinagar and different areas in the plains of the valley have been lashed by rains, bringing down the temperature by a number of levels.
The meteorological division has forecast widespread rainfall in Kashmir and at remoted locations of the Jammu area, however stated the climate is predicted to enhance later in the day.
It stated there’s a chance of intermittent rain or thunderstorm at scattered locations, particularly in the direction of late afternoon/night from Saturday until Tuesday.
On May 3 and 4, there are possibilities of widespread gentle to average rain/thunderstorm, with the opportunity of heavy rains at some locations, the MeT workplace stated.
