Rajasthan will roll out its bold common health insurance coverage scheme on May 1, the registration course of for which can begin from April 1, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot stated on Saturday. Under the scheme, introduced within the state funds for 2021-22 by Gehlot, each household will get an insurance cowl of Rs 5 lakh by paying Rs 850 yearly.

“We are going to implement the universal health coverage scheme from May 1 and registration will start from April 1,” the chief minister stated at a digital programme of the medical training division.

He stated the medical and health sector is the topmost precedence for his authorities.

“Development works, water, electricity, education, irrigation, social welfare and other sectors are also on the government’s priority list, but health is the topmost priority area for us,” Gehlot stated.

He stated the state authorities had launched the “Nirogi Rajasthan” marketing campaign and the preparations for it, which began in December 2019, proved to be essential in March 2020 on the time of the coronavirus outbreak.

“The corona management of the government was excellent, due to which the recovery rate was the highest and the mortality rate was the lowest in the state. We have strengthened our medical infrastructure and the per-day corona testing capacity is 70,000 now,” the chief minister stated.

He stated Rajasthan’s “Bhilwara model” was praised worldwide and the “No Mask, No Entry” slogan was adopted within the UK additionally.

Highlighting the medical services within the state, Gehlot stated his authorities is exploring the potential of tie-ups with overseas universities for nursing-training programs. He stated the numbers of medical schools, seats within the MBBS and MD programs have elevated within the state and the federal government is growing mannequin neighborhood health centres (CHCs).

Expressing concern on the second wave of coronavirus circumstances, Gehlot stated the state authorities has imposed sure restrictions, which might be made stricter if the state of affairs worsens.
