Opener N. Jagadeesan (75, 153b, 3×4), Pradosh Ranjan Paul (71, 134b, 10×4), and Vijay Shankar (54, 98b, 5×4, 1×6) struck half-centuries to assist Tamil Nadu rating 273 against Goa on day two of the elite Group-C match within the fifth spherical of the Ranji Trophy on the Goa Cricket Association (GCA) Academy floor right here on Saturday. Off-spinner Mohit Redkar starred with 5 for 70 for Goa whereas left-arm spinner Darshan Misal claimed 4 for 77.

The first session was largely uneventful and was marked by the 98-run second-wicket partnership between Jagadeesan and Pradosh.

Jagadeesan’s innings wasn’t as flamboyant as his final two innings and briefly he appeared uncomfortable going through medium-pacer Deepraj Gaonkar. It appeared the batters didn’t take a simple single off Gaonkar as soon as for Pradosh to stay on strike.

Just like Arjun Tendulkar on Friday, Lakshay Garg too picked up a wicket off a no-ball. That too of the in-form Jagadeesan, who had simply introduced up his half-century, caught behind down the leg-side simply earlier than lunch.
