Rajya Sabha Poll Results: After Congress misplaced the lone Rajya Sabha seat in Himachal Pradesh to the BJP after six MLAs of the ‘Grand Old Party’ cross-voted within the polls, the insurgent lawmakers at the moment are demanding the party to replace the chief minister, sources have stated.

One of the insurgent Congress MLAs Rajinder Rana has demanded that Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu get replaced because the state’s chief minister. He additional stated that many different insurgent MLAs usually are not pleased with Sukhu.

The party has requested Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar and former Haryana CM Bhupender Hooda to resolve the disaster.

Meanwhile, all of the BJP MLAs in Himachal Pradesh and ex-CM Jairam Thakur will likely be assembly Himachal Pradesh Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla.

‘Shock’ defeat for Congress in Himachal 

The Congress on Tuesday suffered a significant upset in Himachal Pradesh by the hands of the BJP within the Rajya Sabha elections which have been marred by cross-voting in all of the three states although it gained three seats in Karnataka whereas the saffron party pocketed an additional seat in Uttar Pradesh.

Polling was held for 10 seats in Uttar Pradesh, 4 in Karnataka and one seat in Himachal Pradesh.

On February 20, 41 candidates together with BJP chief JP Nadda, former Congress president Sonia Gandhi and Union ministers Ashwini Vaishnaw and L Murugan have been elected unopposed to the Upper House.

Himachal Pradesh noticed cross-voting that led to the victory of BJP candidate Harsh Mahajan over Congress’s Abhishek Manu Singhvi. Mahajan was declared winner by draw of heaps after each the candidates have been tied, securing 34 votes every.

The outcome made it clear that six Congress MLAs and the three Independents voted in favour of the BJP. At current, the Congress has 40 MLAs, BJP 25 whereas three are independents within the 68-member Himachal Pradesh meeting.

Singhvi stated the BJP’s transfer to discipline a candidate towards a party which has 40 members in contrast to its 25 was a transparent message that the saffron party desires to win by hook or criminal and extra by criminal.
