Former India cricketer Ambati Rayudu days after coming into politics by becoming a member of the Yuvajana Shramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) backtracked on his resolution inside 9 days whereas saying that he’ll reveal the reason sooner or later. Now a day later, Rayudu, has revealed that since he’ll be taking part in the 2024 version of the International League T20, he cannot be a part of politics until the time he’s taking part in skilled cricket.

“I Ambati Rayudu will be representing the Mumbai Indians in the upcoming ILt20 from jan 20th in Dubai. Which requires me to be politically non affiliated whilst playing professional sport,” Rayudu mentioned on X (previously Twitter) on Sunday, January 7. Rayudu will be a part of the MI Emirates facet, Mumbai Indians’ sister franchise within the UAE’s ILT20. 

Since Rayudu hung up his boots from Indian cricket after IPL 2023, he was eligible to play within the abroad T20 leagues. Rayudu performed within the Caribbean Premier League in a couple of video games for St Kitts and Nevis Patriots and can now be taking part in within the Emirates alongside the likes of Nicholas Pooran, who will be main the facet this time round.

“Nicholas Pooran will take over captain duties at MI Emirates ahead of the new season of ILT20. Kieron Pollard, the skipper for the 2023 season, has been named the skipper of the MI Cape Town side this year,” MI Emirates mentioned in an announcement.
