New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Thursday stated the Rohingya refugees, presently underneath detention in Jammu, might be deported to Myanmar solely after correct process is adopted.

The Centre, nevertheless, contested the petitioner’s declare with Solicitor General Tushar Mehta stating “they are not refugees at all”.
“This is the second round of litigation. This petitioner had filed an application (before) and it was dismissed,” he added.

Stating they’re unlawful immigrants who might be deported as per the process established by regulation, the Solicitor General stated: “We are always in touch with Myanmar and if they confirm, then they can be deported”.
