Rupee gains 16 paise to 82.66 against U.S. dollar

The rupee gained 16 paise to 82.66 against the U.S. dollar in early commerce on Monday because the American foreign money retreated from its elevated ranges.

Forex merchants stated weak crude oil costs additionally lent some assist to the native unit.

At the interbank international change, the home unit opened at 82.69 against the dollar, then gained floor and touched 82.66, registering an increase of 16 paise over its earlier shut.

In preliminary commerce, the rupee additionally touched a low of 82.71 against the American foreign money.

On Friday, the rupee closed at 82.82 against the U.S. foreign money.

Meanwhile, the dollar index, which gauges the buck’s energy against a basket of six currencies, rose 0.13% to 103.99.
