New Delhi: Samsung India Electronics Pvt Ltd has deposited Rs 300 crore with the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) in an alleged responsibility evasion case, based on a report.
The DRI had earlier discovered that the tech large had mis-declared and labeled the imports as telecom items that appeal to zero responsibility.
The Indian Express reported sources as saying that Samsung India Electronics Pvt Ltd has deposited Rs 300 crore with the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) after the company discovered that the corporate had allegedly incorrectly declared imports of Remote Radio Head, an equipment used for the 4G telecom expertise.

“The imports of Remote Radio Head were declared as eNodeB that attract zero duty. The short-paid duty on the consignments imported by Samsung India is over Rs 500 crore. However, on August 17, the company deposited Rs 300 crore towards their duty liability,” the supply informed The Indian Express.
The DRI, which earlier in July started investigating the imports of Remote Radio Head by Samsung India, had additionally searched the Mumbai and Delhi places of work of Samsung as a part of the probe.
The DRI had later questioned the chief monetary officer of Samsung and some different officers in reference to this case.
Samsung is, nonetheless, but to make an official assertion on this regard.
