Sanjay Leela Bhansalis Magnum Opus Web-Series Heeramandi Gets Green Light For Second Season


Mumbai: The multi-starrer interval drama streaming sequence ‘Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar’ is about to return with a second season.

The sequence marked the OTT debut of Indian auteur Sanjay Leela Bhansali and instructed the story of Indian courtesans amid the liberty wrestle. It starred Aditi Rao Hydari, Manisha Koirala, Richa Chadha, Sharmin Segal, Sanjeeda Shaikh, and Sonakshi Sinha.

The first season of the sequence obtained an immense constructive response for its visuals, storytelling, and music.

Bhansali expressed his gratitude for the success of ‘Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar’, saying, “I’m blessed by the love and appreciation for ‘Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar’. It’s been a pleasure to see the present resonate with audiences worldwide, and I could not have requested for a greater accomplice than Netflix. I’m glad to announce that we’ll be again with season 2.”

As per ‘Variety’, this time round, the ladies of Heeramandi will head to India after the partition and look to settle within the Hindi or Bengali movie trade.

At Carter Road in Mumbai, a flash mob of 100 dancers adorned in anarkalis (a conventional Indian robe) and anklets danced to a medley of songs from the sequence. As the viewers joined in singing alongside, the dancers delivered the information about season 2.

The second season of the sequence will quickly drop on Netflix.
