The Supreme Court on Thursday sought response of the Nationalist Congress Party faction led by Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar on a plea of the Sharad Pawar group alleging misuse of his title and photos for political good points.

A bench comprising Justices Surya Kant and Okay V Viswanathan requested the Ajit Pawar faction to file its response by Saturday to Sharad Pawar’s plea and glued it for additional listening to on March 19.

“We need a categorical and unconditional undertaking that the name, pictures of Sharad Pawar will not be used,” the bench mentioned. Earlier, the highest courtroom had directed that the Election Commission’s order of February 7 allotting ‘Nationalist Congress Party-Sharadchandra Pawar’ because the social gathering title for the Sharad Pawar faction will proceed until additional orders.

It had additionally sought response of the Ajit Pawar-led faction on a plea of Sharad Pawar in opposition to the February 6 order of the Election Commission recognising the Maharashtra deputy chief minister-led group as the true Nationalist Congress Party (NCP).

“I will work for my constituency, my state and the country under the leadership of PM Modi. I had a good innings with the Congress party and I hope I’ll have a better innings with the BJP. That depends on the BJP (whether she will contest the 2024 Lok Sabha elections or not).”

Following the directive, Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister and NCP president Ajit Pawar mentioned that though following a break up his social gathering initially used the title and photographs of his uncle Sharad Pawar, after the latter’s objection, it began utilizing state’s first chief minister Yashwantrao Chavan’s title and photos.
