According to a report from PTI, a jewelry retailer in Gurugram skilled a theft of Rs 2 lakh when an unknown particular person deceived the proprietor. The scammer visited the shop and pretended to be fascinated with buying gold cash price that certain quantity.
The jewelry retailer proprietor, trusting the scammer, determined to proceed with a web-based transaction as an alternative of an in-particular person fee. Unfortunately, she shared her husband’s financial institution particulars, and the scammer offered a pretend screenshot to deceive her into believing that the fee was confirmed.
Believing the fee was made, the proprietor allowed him to go away. Unfortunately, she later found that no cash was credited to her account and she or he has fallen sufferer to a fraudulent scheme, PTI reported.

Anuradha, the jewelry retailer proprietor, promptly took motion upon realising the lacking fee. She filed a criticism with the police, explaining how the scammer took benefit of her susceptible state of affairs whereas her husband was hospitalised and she or he wanted to conduct distant transactions.
“My husband Mukesh Kumar was in hospital then. I shared his checking account particulars, and the particular person despatched me a screenshot on my WhatsApp saying the fee was profitable. When I contacted the gentleman concerning the fee, he requested my presence in Mewat initially and later in Nehru Place, Delhi. However, to my dismay, he failed to meet his monetary obligation. Eventually, I resorted to in search of help from the police authorities,” she said.
