A safety guard allegedly set ablaze the supervisor of a nationalised bank at Dharchula in Uttarakhand’s Pithoragarh district, police stated on May 6.

The accused, recognized as Deepak Kshetri, has been arrested, Superintendent of Police (Pithoragarh) Lokeshwar Singh stated.

Muhammad Owais, the supervisor of a State Bank of India department, suffered 36% burns and has been admitted to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Rishikesh, after first help at a close-by hospital, he stated.

The pair had fought earlier as properly, the police stated.

On Saturday, when Kshetri didn’t flip up for responsibility, Owais marked him absent. Following this motion, Kshetri allegedly poured petrol on the bank supervisor and set him on hearth, they added.

Kshetri, a resident of Dehradun, retired from the Jammu and Kashmir Rifles and was working as a safety guard on the bank for the previous two years.
