The Sensex surged by 759.49 points, or 1.05 per cent, closing at 73,327.94, whereas the Nifty rose by 203 points, or 0.93 p.c, concluding at 22,097.50.
Among the Nifty’s high gainers have been Wipro, ONGC, HCL Technologies, Infosys, and Bharti Airtel. HDFC Life, Bajaj Finance, Bajaj Finserv, Hindalco Industries, and Eicher Motors have been among the many high losers.
All sectoral indices, excluding metals, ended within the inexperienced, with Information Technology, PSU Bank, and Oil & Gas every gaining 1 per cent. The broader indices touched contemporary highs in the course of the session, finally closing with marginal positive aspects.
