Reliance Industries Limited on Wednesday junked stories which claimed that Indian philanthropist Nita Ambani will be part of the Banaras Hindu University (BHU) as a visiting school.
RIL in a press release mentioned that the stories making such claims are faux as Nita Ambani hasn’t acquired an invite from BHU.
The firm’s assertion got here a day after a number of college college students protested towards the proposal to make Reliance Industries government director Nita Ambani as a visiting professor. As per the stories, a number of college students even sat outdoors the VC’s residence to mark their protest.Â
The college students mentioned that those that have set an instance of ladies empowerment needs to be invited and demanded that the University shouldn’t be “privatised”.
“Ambani is a woman entrepreneur. If she joins our centre, the women of Purvanchal will get the benefit of her experience,” Prof Nidhi Sharma, coordinator of the Centre for Women’s Studies and Development mentioned, as reported by PTI.
Meanwhile, the dean of the college reportedly informed the protesting college students that no such resolution has been finalised but.
The protest broke out after stories surfaced claiming that Ambani acquired a proposal from the college to affix as a visiting professor. She was reportedly requested to affix BHU’s Centre for Women Development and Studies in a bid to assist uplift the residing customary of ladies within the Purvanchal space of Uttar Pradesh.
