Legendary Sunil Gavaskar has requested Shubman Gill to curb his aggressive intentions whereas batting in Tests after the younger batsman failed to provide a considerable outing in the primary Test towards South Africa at Centurion.

Gill made two and 26 on the SuperSport Park and fell to pacers Nandre Burger and Marco Jansen in the primary and second innings respectively as India misplaced the opening Test by an innings and 32 runs.

Gavaskar suggested Gill to take in the totally different wants of Test cricket as in comparison with white ball codecs.

“I think he is playing a bit too aggressively in Test cricket. There is a slight difference when you play Test cricket when compared to T20I and ODI cricket. The difference is in the ball.
