Sikkim: Over 800 tourists had been rescued by theĀ Indian Army who had been stranded due to snowfall and inclement climate in East Sikkim. The rescue operation was led by Trishakti Corps.

The tourists, together with aged, girls and kids, had gotten stranded in varied areas of japanese Sikkim due to snowfall and inclement climate, they mentioned.

The rescue mission by the Trishakti Corps of the Indian Army continued until late night and all stranded tourists had been moved to safer areas and supplied with shelter, heat clothes, medical support and sizzling meals, the officers mentioned.

Soldiers even vacated their barracks to allow the lodging of the stranded tourists, they added.
