Southwest monsoon advances further, IMD issues heavy rainfall warning for several states

New Delhi: The circumstances are beneficial for the development of southwest monsoon into extra areas of Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, West Bengal, Jharkhand, Bihar and a few elements of east Uttar Pradesh within the coming 24 hours, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted. 

Maharashtra witnessed the onset of monsoon on June 9 and has since then been receiving heavy showers, particularly in Mumbai. The climate division mentioned widespread rainfall exercise with heavy to very heavy rainfalls over coastal and adjoining Ghats districts of Maharashtra and Goa and Karnataka throughout the subsequent 5 days is anticipated, ANI reported.  

“Isolated extraordinarily heavy falls over Konkan and Goa throughout June 12 to fifteen and over Madhya Maharashtra on June 14 and 15, 2021 and remoted heavy rainfall over Kerala throughout June 12 to fifteen,”  ANI quoted IMD mentioned. 

For Odisha, Jharkhand, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab and Haryana, the climate company has predicted average to extreme thunderstorms accompanied by frequent cloud to floor lightning and powerful gusty winds throughout the subsequent 4-5 days. Due to the southwesterly winds, “fairly widespread to widespread rainfall activity with isolated heavy to very heavy falls” has been predicted over Odisha, Chhattisgarh, East Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Telangana throughout the subsequent 3-4 days.

As per IMD, the southwest monsoon has additional superior into remaining elements of Northwest Bay of Bengal, some extra elements of Odisha, most elements of West Bengal in addition to some elements of Jharkhand and Bihar.
