SpaceX has cleared the ultimate hurdle for launching its new big Starship from Texas as early as subsequent week on a primary check flight.

The Federal Aviation Administration issued the long-awaited license on Friday. SpaceX introduced that Starship — the world’s largest and strongest rocket — may soar as quickly as Monday.

No individuals or satellites shall be aboard the 394-foot (120-meter) rocket. SpaceX will try to ship the spacecraft atop the colossal booster world wide, from the southern tip of Texas all the best way to Hawaii. The first stage shall be discarded within the Gulf of Mexico and the spacecraft into the Pacific. No landings shall be tried for this debut.

It would be the first launch try of a full-size Starship, fabricated from shiny chrome steel and powered by methane-fueled engines.

The FAA mentioned SpaceX had met all necessities, together with security and environmental. The license is legitimate for 5 years.

”We fastidiously analyzed the general public security dangers throughout each stage of the mission and required SpaceX to mitigate these dangers,” the FAA added.

Musk envisions utilizing Starships to ship individuals to the moon and Mars. NASA has already signed up for a Starship to put astronauts on the lunar floor as early as 2025.
