Sri Lankan board calls for ‘urgent and comprehensive explanation’ following 302-run loss to India

Following India’s lopsided 302-run win over Sri Lanka within the the ODI World Cup 2023 at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Thursday, Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) requested for ‘an pressing and comprehensive clarification from the complete teaching employees and selectors’, in accordance to ESPNcricinfo.

In an announcement made by the Sri Lankan cricket board, they stated that the current defeats had been surprising and raised questions in regards to the group’s preparation, methods and efficiency. SLC additional wrote that they imagine in transparency and the significance of addressing topic issues promptly.

“The recent overall performance and shocking defeats have raised significant questions about the team’s preparation, strategies and performance. Apart from the sloppy performances on the ongoing ODI World Cup 2023, Sri Lanka have been affected by damage issues. Sri Lanka skipper Dasun Shanaka and quick bowlers Matheesha Pathirana and Lahiru Kumara had been dominated out on the extravagant match.

Following the damage issues, they had been pressured to herald Chamika Karunaratne, Angelo Mathews and Dushmantha Chameera as replacements. On the opposite hand, Kusal Mendis stepped in as captain.
