The 18-year-old environmental activist took to Twitter on Tuesday and shared a news story about internet shutdowns in Delhi. While sharing the news article, Greta said “We stand in solidarity with the #FarmersProtest in India.”

Her post came hours after pop star Rihanna shared the same story that highlighted the government’s latest crackdown on the agitating farmers by cutting off internet services in many regions.

Sharing the news report on the ongoing farmers’ protest in India, the Umbrella singer Rihanna took to her Twitter and wrote, “Why aren’t we talking about this?! #FarmersProtest”

Meanwhile, thousands of farmers who have been camping in Delhi NCR have now called for a nationwide agitation on February 6 to mount pressure on the ruling dispensation to repeal the laws.

Pitted against protesting farmers, Delhi Police has now come up with innovative methods to check their advance. Police have installed iron spikes and wooden boards with big nails cemented on to the roads.

Also, the iron barricades have been further fortified by concertina wires, double layers of concrete slabs further strengthened by pouring in concrete mix between them to make them difficult to move even by tractors once the concrete solidifies.
