Maharashtra Congress chief Nana Patole on Thursday requested Leader of the Opposition (LoP) Devendra Fadnavis to put aside political variations and help the state in its efforts to deal with the “alarming” COVID-19 state of affairs.

“Instead of co-ordinating with the central government to ensure the state gets adequate medical aid, Fadnavis and other Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders in the state only want to work to put the state government into trouble,” he alleged.

Patole stated instead of “behaving irresponsibly”, Fadnavis and different state BJP leaders needs to be the “voice of Maharashtra” on the Centre.

He requested Fadnavis to put aside political variations and present his dedication in the direction of the state.

The Congress chief stated COVID-19 is a “national calamity” and nonetheless Maharashtra had to battle to procure medicines and medical tools from the Centre.

Maharashtra wants 50,000 Remdesivir injections every day and the Centre has allotted solely 26,000 vials per day.

“Such bias is not good,” Patole stated.

“Fadnavis should become the voice of Marathi people in Delhi. If Fadnavis and other BJP leaders can show haste in getting a Remdesivir black marketeer released from police station, they should show similar urgency in saving people’s lives,” the Congress chief stated.
