Supreme Court dismisses Bengal govt’s plea, refuses to stay HC order in Sandeshkhali case – India TV

The Supreme Court on Wednesday dismissed the West Bengal authorities’s plea looking for an pressing listening to on the Sandeshkhali case which pertains to assault on Enforcement Directorate (ED) officers in January.

In its order, the highest courtroom additionally refused to put a stay on the Calcutta High Court order which directed the State to instantly handover custody of ex-Trinamool Congress (TMC) chief Sheikh Shahjahan to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee-led state authorities had moved to the apex courtroom demanding an early listening to after refusing to switch Shahjahan to CBI custody.
