Suresh Wadkar spoke about his first assembly with Rahman and the equation they share.
Popular musician Suresh Wadkar, recognized for creating iconic tune previously, lately make clear his strained relationship with the ace music composer AR Rahman. As per reviews, the dispute between them emerged through the recording of Wadkar and Sadhna Sargam’s unknown music after their profitable collaboration in Rangeela. The music, Pyaar Ye Jaane Kaisa Hai from the Aamir Khan starrer, had resonated deeply with audiences and remained favorite to today. Despite the preliminary success, their partnership took a bitter flip. In an interview with Rajshri Unplugged, Suresh spoke about his first assembly with Rahman throughout his early years and mentioned the explanations behind their untold dynamics that stopped the 2 musical geniuses creating extra pleasant tunes collectively.
The musician revealed, “Ek din telephone aya Madras se, tab tak naam maine suna tha, AR Rahman, kyunki Roja achuki thi. Phone aya Madras se, ‘Rahman saab ne bulaya apko gaane ke liye,’ toh foremost gaya, tab tak mujhe malum nahi hai aur unka roz ka jo schedule hota tha jo. Dupahar ko uthte the soke, magar woh unka system ban chuka hai. Dopahar ko 2 baje se, late night time 3-4 bje tak kaam karte hain ye log. (One day, I acquired a name from Madras. Until that point, I had heard the title, AR Rahman, as a result of Roja had launched. When AR Rahman arrived, Suresh Wadkar was surprised and immediately called him ‘Dileep.’ Then, Mehboob clarified that he was Rahman. The singer proceeded to teach Wadkar the song, Pyaar Ye Jaane Kaisa Hai. He felt extremely happy and pleased because it was such a beautiful song. They spent a long time chatting and enjoying each other’s company. Rahman was also very happy and people loved the song they created together.
“Fir badmein ek film ka gaana karne gaya tha main, uske baad unhone fir mujhe nahi bulaya, kyunki, kaam mein kabhi kabhi koi cheez pasand aati hai, Kabhi nahi aati hai. Sabse pehle system toh acha nahi laga ki pehle woh gaana unke assistant ne record karwaya, fir janaab aaye aur already humlog hotel pe jaa chuke the, main aur Sadhna Sargam. Suresh Wadkar additional point out, “Fir woh aaye aur unhone suna, ‘No no, I want it little this type,’ toh ye hamari system mein nahi baithti cheezen, uske wajah se thoda sa argument ho gaya tha. Fir naa unhone bulaya, na maine unke liye gaaya, magar bohot proficient bacha hai, bohot acha kaam karta hai, we’re very happy with him.
