A gaggle of people suspected to be Maoists set ablaze several vehicles, together with dumpers and vehicles, parked near the Serangdag bauxite mine in Jharkhand. According to the police, the incident happened on the Ghagra neighborhood improvement (CD) block in Gumla district. The incident concerned the arson of seven vehicles in complete, a senior police officer stated.
“A search operation has been launched to nab the miscreants, who are believed to be members of a Maoist outfit,” he stated. The demand for ‘levy’ (extortion) is prone to be the rationale behind the act, the officer stated. Security has been bolstered in the realm following the incident.
Similar incident occurred final yr
In an analogous incident, as many as six vehicles have been torched and two workers of a non-public street development firm have been assaulted by members of banned CPI (Maoist) in the state’s Palamu district in August final yr.
The incident had taken place in the Haldiya Ghati space beneath the Chhatarpur Police Station limits which is round 220 km from the state capital Ranchi.
