Lucknow: Suspended paediatrician, Dr. Kafeel Khan has written to Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath requesting to revoke his suspension in order that he can serve COVID-19 sufferers.
“My experience of more than 15 years in the ICU may be helpful in saving some lives. I humbly request that you to give me the opportunity to serve the country in this COVID-19 epidemic,” stated Khan in a tweet.

“I have written 38 letters to the state government to revoke my suspension. The inquiry committee constituted by the state government has given a clean chit in the case. The Allahabad high court, as well as the Supreme Court in the orders passed in 2019, directed the state government to take a decision on my suspension within 90 days but even after 1,300 days, the suspension has not been revoked,” he wrote in his letter to the UP CM.
Kafeel Khan & Oxygen Tragedy
In 2017, Khan hit the headlines after the Oxygen tragedy on the Baba Raghav Das (BRD) Medical College, during which a number of youngsters died attributable to lack of oxygen cylinders. Initially, he was hailed as a saviour for the youngsters for arranging emergency oxygen cylinders however later, confronted motion, together with 9 different docs and workers members of the hospital, all of whom had been launched on bail later.

Uttar Pradesh Curfew
On Tuesday, the Yogi Adityanath authorities stated that it had imposed an evening curfew in the complete state of Uttar Pradesh moreover, there might be a ‘full lockdown’ on Saturdays & Sundays ranging from this weekend i.e., from Friday 8 pm to Monday 7 am, the entire state might be below lockdown.
