Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Okay Palaniswami tendered his resignation and that of his cupboard and Governor Banwarilal Purohit accepted it, the Raj Bhavan stated right here on Monday. “The Governor of Tamil Nadu accepted the resignation of Chief Minister Thiru Edappadi K Palaniswami and his Council of Ministers, with effect from the afternoon of 3.5.2021,” a Raj Bhavan launch stated.
However, Purohit requested him and the current Council of Ministers to proceed till various preparations are made, the discharge added. Also, the “governor has dissolved the 15th (2016-21) Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly.” DMK captured the reins of energy in Tamil Nadu from the AIADMK by successful 133 of the entire 234 constituencies within the Assembly polls.
The AIADMK received 66 seats.
