Tamil Nadu Polls 2021: Kamal Haasan To Contest From Coimbatore South Constituency

Tamil Nadu Elections 2021:  Veteran actor turned politician and chief of Makkal Needhi Miam Kamal Haasan has introduced that he’ll battle the upcoming Tamil Nadu polls from the Coimbatore South constituency.  He made the announcement immediately whereas releasing his social gathering’s second checklist of candidates.

Earlier, the MNM chief introduced the primary checklist of 70 social gathering candidates for the April 6 Assembly elections in Tamil Nadu, fielding, amongst others, a former affiliate of ex-President, the late APJ Abdul Kalam.

Remembering his late father, Haasan immediately expressed confidence that the folks of the constituency would allow him to voice his views within the Assembly. “My father’s dream was I should become an IAS officer and then enter politics. Though I could not realise his dream, my party comprises many (former) IAS officers. That is a proud moment for us,” he instructed reporters.

V Ponraj, a scientist and former affiliate of the late Kalam, has been nominated from Anna Nagar within the metropolis whereas former IAS officer Santhosh Babu is the social gathering’s decide for Villivakkam within the metropolis.

Film lyricist Snehan was among the many 70 candidates Haasan named for varied constituencies throughout the state together with Kancheepuram, Mettur, Erode, Coonoor, Avanashi (SC), Viralimalai, Bodinayakkanur, Nagercoil, and Colachel.

The MNM has agreed for an alliance with actor Sarathkumar’s All India Samathuva Makkal Katchi and Indhiya Jananayaga Katchi. Both allies will contest in 40 seats every, whereas it appears out in 154 seats.
