Pudukkottai: The farmers-turned-YouTube stars, who took their village, Chinna Veeramangalam in Pudukkottai district, to a world viewers via conventional cooking movies, have garnered one crore subscribers. Periyathambi, 64, Subramanian, 32, Iyanar, 32, Tamilchelvam, 26, Muthumanikkam (24) and, Murugesan (30) from have began a YouTube channel referred to as Village Cooking within the 12 months 2018.

The villagers used to cook dinner in pure environments like coconut groves and gardens and add it on their channel. Cooking in a pure and village model has gained over 10 lakh subscribers within the final three years. The Village youtube channel has attracted a big viewers the place, Rahul Gandhi, a former Congress chief who had come to Aravakurichi through the election marketing campaign in Tamil Nadu, met the Village Cooking Channel group and ate mushroom biryani together with the crew.

Speaking to ANI, Aiyanaar, one of many crew members of the YouTube channel, mentioned, “We have started a youtube channel in 2018. Even before five months of starting this channel, we had 7 million subscribers and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi visited our place. He cooked and ate with us which made it reach the next 3 million quickly.”

“Now we have 10 million subscribers for our channel. For every one crore subscribe YouTube will give the diamond button which we got. We are happy and proud that our channel got this diamond button in South India first time. We have planned to spend the revenue from our YouTube channel to help the needy and poor,” he added.

The crew used to supply what they cook dinner to the poor and spend most of their income which they earned via YouTube channels to the homeless. Periya Thambi, one other member mentioned, “We began this Village Cooking channel with six crew members and now we have grown effectively.

We all six had an concept to donate part of the income to the chief minister by assembly him. The chief minister (MK Stalin) received the donation and thanked us.”Subramanian is glad that the group took their village to a world viewers via conventional cooking movies which have garnered one crore subscribers.

“Our channel is going good with people`s support. As we crossed a 1 crore subscriptions for our YouTube channel we were awarded the diamond button. People are happy that a Tamil channel from a village has reached such a level,” mentioned Subramanian.
