Telangana govt cancels class 10 board exams, defers intermediate tests due to spike in COVID-19 cases

Hyderabad: The Telangana authorities has determined to cancel the Board exams for Class 10 and has introduced that the Class 12 boards can be postponed.

The announcement comes a day after the Centre determined to cancel the tenth class CBSE examinations and postpone the twelfth class exams, scheduled to be held from May 4, in view of the surge in COVID-19 cases throughout the nation.

“Considering the present pandemic situation prevailing in the state and also in view of the CBSE notification dated 14- 4-2021, the government hereby cancels all 10th class exams to be held from 17th May, 2021,” Special Chief Secretary Chitra Ramachadran mentioned in an order, information company PTI reported.

The outcomes of the tenth class college students can be ready on the premise of goal standards to be developed by the SSC Board (secondary college certificates) at a later date.

Any candidate not glad with the marks allotted can be given a possibility to seem for the examination as and when the circumstances grow to be conducive, the order added.

Another authorities order mentioned the intermediate first 12 months college students can be promoted with out exams.

All intermediate second 12 months exams scheduled from May 1 stand postponed and a evaluation on them can be held in the primary week of June.

The dates of the exams can be introduced at the very least 15 days in advance, it mentioned.
